1st Kayak Tour & More

Today it finally got above 40 degrees and the wind died down so I decided to venture out in my kayak for the first time. I waited till after CBS Sunday Morning & the news show that comes after it. But then I spent an hour meandering along the shoreline to see who/what was happening. I saw a few mud turtles sunning on logs or rocks; the little shore birds that I think are referred to as "peeps"; the mergansers who were lounging in the bays across the lake; some downy woodpeckers flitting between trees; and all under the watchful eyes of the eagle who was swooping above. Check out the mergansers - click on the photo to make it bigger!

After I got back, I had a visit from long-time friend, Dean Mikkelson, who was returning from a camping outing with friends at a remote campsite near here. He was not frozen but was looking forward to a shower. We remarked about what a spot this is - even if it is not warm!

After lunch I went over to my new office in the Clubhouse - have to get those briefs graded. I decided to take a couple of photos of the place as my prizes in between briefs. I got three done so here are the two photos - how's this for a work space???

And because there was still a chill in the place, I started up the woodstove to warm it up.

So I have a good place work - thanks to the Dougster and Kelsey, who is storing her stuff here, and tomorrow I'll try to get an earlier start on the grading so I can finish one class before the week-end.

It's still sunny and it's nearly 7 p.m. - I have a Skype session planned so have to get ready. This is the life!

  2. It's looking a lot neater in these pictures than currently. Gald to see you're rolling up your sleeves and going to town on projects.
